Sonny Morrow's

rare film of YO-3A - preflight, take off and view of the scenery from the pilots seat.  Spring 1971 at the 73rd Aviation Company at Long Than North. RVN.

Back in early 2000s, Colonel Sonny Morrow, USA and I got together to discuss possibly book layout ideas. Around that time, I always made a rough copy of some 8mm film he had. This was back before I knew what I was doing. Some how I put a .pri suffix on the digital transfer and it got lost in my files. At that time I was working 7 days a week on my business.  Well, about a week ago I found a file labeled yo-3a.pri.  I could not open it. Finally after asking Grok and trying all sorts of things I cracked the code and manages to convert the images to JPEG then created MP4 files which I sandwiched together.  This film is remarkable in that Capt. Sonny takes us through a preflight, engine start, taxi to the runway and take off. And it also has views of the landscape from the pilots seat.  Very rare footage indeed1 There is more footage I have but it is very time consuming to do.    Enjoy this Spring 1971 video that Sonny made at the 73rd Aviation Company at Long Than North. RVN.

Morrow 8mm screen shots of 008 and 004 at the 73rd revetment. In the first part you wiil see ssgt Kenneth Miller.

Sonny took this on a ride along in an OVI-Mohawk at LTN. These images are screen shots at the end of an 8mm film of that flight. Taxing in, you see the tower and YO-3As under structures in the revetment. March 71 or later.
